Holiday Carriage Rides
Once again, come and enjoy a carriage ride through Downtown Frederick during the holiday season. The carriage rides will leave every 30 minutes for a memorable holiday ride,with family and friends. Carriages leave from in front of Brewer's Alley, 124 N. Market Street, 4:30 - 8:30pm on Saturday and 2 - 6pm on Sunday. Pre-registration is recommended. Tickets will be sold during the above times for avilable slots only. Maximum number of riders for each ride will be 12. Benefit Concert for American Red Cross
The Weinberg Center will be joining forces with Scott Ambush of Spyro Gyra, Deanna Bogart, Shane Gamble,The Knight Brothers, and other musician to pur on a special benefit concert for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. 10% of the proceeds for this event will g to both the Red Cross Haitian Relief Fund and the Frederick County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Academy of St. Cecilia Youth Orchestra
Join ASCYO at this free concert! The Academy of Saint Cecilia Youth Orchestra (ASCYO), an outreach music ministry of Damascus United Methodist Church to youth and their families n the greater Washington, D.C. area, is in its seventh year. The ASCYO began in 2001 under the direction of Rev. Walter G. Edmonds. There are now six entities under the umbrella of ASCYO: three orchestras, flute choir, and 2 bands. ASCYO has over 150 students in its ensembles, serving over 100 families. The mission of ASCYO is to serve the community by providing opportunity for young musicians to grow spiritually and attain musical excellence through instruction, rehearsal and public perfomances of the great musical compositions of the past and present. Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes
The American Diabetes Association is leading the fight to stop diabetes and its deadly consequences. Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes is the Association's signature fundraising walk. Over 100 decorated and themed wreaths and trees are expeceted to adorn the Cultural Arts Center during the 3rd annual Frederick Festival of Greens. The wreaths and trees, ranging from the fancy to the funky, are decorated by local artists, businesses, school groups, community organizations, and other residents. Individuals can bid on the decorated pieces throughout the festival during a silent auction. In addition to the wreaths being on disply, an array of holdiay activities are planned during the eight-dayevent, truly maiking it a festival atmosphere. People can enjoy holiday entertainment, movies, hands-on activities and much more. Most of the activties are free and open to the public and enjoyable for the entrie family.
