We’re so thrilled for this weekend, that we’re kicking it off a day early! Not only does Alive @ Five, the Partnership’s summer outdoor happy hour, start TODAY, but it’s Mother’s Day weekend, and there’s a ton to celebrate. Alive @ Five Kick-Off

Thursday, May 11, 5pm-8pm, $6 admission

Carroll Creek Amphitheater

Alive @ Five kicks off TODAY, May 11, featuring live music and craft beverages every Thursday through September 28!

New this year! Admission and drinks are $6 each. We’ve added cocktails to the mix – so take your pick from a crisp beer, refreshing wine or craft spirit! Local food trucks will also be serving up delicious fare and non-alcoholic beverages each week. Tonight, we’ve got Radio Hero on stage, with Firestone’s and Tempo di Pasta food trucks ready to serve you. Located in the Carroll Creek Amphitheater every Thursday from 5-8pm (May 11 – September 28), all events are 21+ only – don’t forget your ID.

Alive @ Five is a summer-long fundraiser for Downtown Frederick Partnership, made possible with the support of DARCARS Toyota of Frederick and an amazing team of sponsors and volunteers. All proceeds from the event are reinvested into the Downtown Frederick community.

South & Saints @ Maryland Ensemble Theater

A MET Premiere, in collaboration with AARCH Society and The Maryland Room at C. Burr Artz Library, exploring the rich and valuable history of the African American community in Frederick. An ASL interpreted performance will take place on Friday, May 19th. For all performances, a limited supply of Pay What You Will tickets are available beginning at $5. We ask that if you can pay for a full price ticket that you do using the standard ticket option.

Ladies of Laugher: Funny and Fabulous Tour

Friday, May 12, 8pm

New Spires Stages, 15 W Patrick St

The Ladies of Laughter Funny & Fabulous tour includes winners and the best talent from its heralded international competition.  Past participants include Amy Schumer, Tammy Pescatelli, Michelle Buteau and countless others who got their jump-start from this one-and-only women’s comedy programming with the sole purpose of highlighting, celebrating and furthering the careers of women in stand-up comedy.

See 3 past winners of the Ladies of Laughter competition with totally unique backgrounds and sensibilities:  the suburban mom (Jane Condon), the lawyer turned comedian from Singapore (Jocelyn Chia) and the urban, philosopher that makes you see your world differently, (Leighann Lord).  All 3 are primed to make you open your mind, make you laugh and forget about all the world’s problems. This is a show that you will be telling your friends about for a long time!

Maryland Craft Beer Festival

The Brewers Association of Maryland returns to the Carroll Creek Linear Park in Frederick for the 2023 Maryland Craft Beer Festival, presented by Visit Frederick! We’re thrilled to be gathering again with you for this great festival.

Festival entry includes beer samples from DOZENS OF MARYLAND BREWERIES (including a few breweries not yet open to the public!) pouring more than 200 unique, beers – all brewed in Maryland.

In addition, there will be live music and a tasty selection of local food and craft vendors throughout the festival.
