AARCH (African American Resources – Cultural and Heritage) invites you to celebrate the 2019 Fall AARCH Gala, in support of the Heritage Center for African American History and Culture in Frederick, Maryland.
The Heritage Center for African American History and Culture will be established at 125 E All Saints St, thanks to the generosity of the City of Frederick. The Heritage Center will house AARCH’s collection of exhibits and artifacts, and will serve as a place for family and scholarly research, school field trips, college internships, presentations, film screenings, walking tours and special events.
AARCH is devoted to preserving and sharing the history and culture of African Americans living in Frederick County, MD. AARCH has engaged with the wider community for nearly 20 years, sharing the richness of the many contributions African Americans have made to Frederick County – from the time of slavery, through the Jim Crow era and decades of other challenges.
AARCH members work to identify, collect, and exhibit artifacts that tell the unique story of African Americans from our area. AARCH shares first-person oral histories and engages with students and partner organizations to bring African American history alive. AARCH’s work facilitates an understanding of how the past shapes and enriches the present and future of every citizen.
Tickets are $80 per person or $150 per couple. Included in the price of the ticket is first complimentary wine or beer, heavy hor d’oeuvres, live music and dancing, cash bar.
