Kianna (Key-Anne-Uh) Nobles is a photographer who grew up in a small town and did everything right, graduating one year early from high school, attaining her Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and even getting married and settling down. But, through all these wonderful things, something didn’t sit quite right. Her small-town upbringing and proper politeness implored her to seek something new. So, she traveled the world, discovering new places, trying new foods and making new friends. In the last five years, Kianna traveled to over 15 countries and 4 continents. In her work, you’ll see beautiful and colorful views with strong contrast so that even the smallest details can be seen. But she didn’t stop there. These enticing matte photographs are taken one step further.
In this day and age, people are constantly distracted, passing through life without noticing what is going on around them. Many of us watch life on our phones (or tablets… or computers…), but are we experiencing the life all around us? Kianna’s work focuses on anything and everything around her, bringing the awe-inspiring and nuanced intricacies of this planet back into view while exploring what it means to be a person in this world. Her work not only shows you all around the world but encourages you to seek it out for yourself and reconnect to it. What is going on in your world?
Exhibit runs weekends throughout June, Gallery hours 1-5pm.
