Author Event with Lisa Perrin and Curious Iguana @ Frederick Social

Join us at Frederick Social as we welcome author and illustrator Lisa Perrin to Frederick to celebrate the release of her fascinating true crime book, League of Lady Poisoners. Lisa will discuss this sumptuously illustrated book about infamous women poisoners, answer questions, and sign books. Attendees are encouraged to “pick their poison” from Frederick Social’s large selection of adult beverages.

This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event. All accessibility requests must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event (email info@curiousiguana.com).

About the book: This riveting and well-researched volume by Lisa Perrin weaves together the stories of more than twenty-five accused women poisoners, exploring the circumstances and skill sets that led them to lives of crime. Organized into thematic chapters based on the women’s motives, the book also includes an illustrated primer that delves into the origins and effects of common poisons throughout history, as well as a foreword by Holly Frey and Maria Trimarchi, creators and hosts of the podcast Criminalia. It is a treat for true crime fans, feminist history buffs, and any curious readers fascinated by the more macabre side of human nature.

About the author: Lisa Perrin is an award-winning illustrator, designer, entrepreneur, and educator. She is a professor in the Illustration department at MICA, and her work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, 3X3 Magazine, and Print Magazine. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
