Letterpress and Design Talk from Notable Swiss Designer and Letterpress Printer Dafi Kühne @ FBAC

If you love graphic arts and letterpress printing, if you are a designerand want to be inspired, you must attend this talk by Dafi Kühne

For this special talk at the Frederick Book Arts Center, Dafi is talking about his poster work, giving insight about his processes and showing physical prints.

Dafi studied in the Visual Communication Department of Zurich University of the Arts, Switzerland and holds a Research-Masters Degree in Typeface Design from University of Reading, UK. In his studio, babyinktwice.ch, he uses a wild mix of analog and digital tools to produce posters for music, art, architecture, and products. With this one main rule in his studio «No PDF ever leaves the studio as a final product», he prints all his posters with letterpress printing presses. His mostly typographic letterpress printed posters have won many international poster design awards and been in exhibitions all around the globe. His designer monograph True Print was published by Lars Müller Publishers in 2016.

Dafi has researched, taught and spoken at Hatch Show Print, the Letterform Archive, the Hamilton Wood Type Museum, Poster House and Cooper Union. We are thrilled to bring this exceptional practitioner to share his innovative techniques and tricks in an afternoon talk and demonstration at the Frederick Book Arts Center.
