The first exhibition of the new year at TAG/The Artists Gallery is based on the 100 year old art movement known as Surrealism. The exhibition is titled “surREALLY? – Where Dreams Meet Reality” and seeks to examine the intersection of dreams and reality in the artistic process. Or, how the subconscious mind impacts the conscious doing of art. TAG is marking the 100th anniversary by filling the gallery with surrealist-inspired art. The show will include works by members of the gallery as well as artists invited to contribute works based on the theme.
The exhibition opens on Friday, January 3 and runs through Sunday, January 26. An opening reception for the artists is scheduled for January 4, from 5 to 9pm. TAG/The Artists Gallery is located at 216 North Market Street in Frederick, Maryland. Gallery hours are Friday and Saturday from noon to 9pm and on Sunday from noon to 5pm.
