Cakes To Die For serves freshly baked pastries, breads and home-style desserts. Our specialty cakes and cupcakes are available in the store and as custom orders for any occasion. Vegan, gluten-free and other restrictive dietary options are also available.
Cakes To Die For was created in 2010 by owner, Lucie Shelton at the age of 16. Lucie’s love of baking started at six years old when she got her first Easy-Bake Oven after expressing interest in wanting to bake like her mom. As she got older, Lucie started taking classes at local shops like the Kitchen Studio and enrolled at the culinary program at Frederick High School and the Career and Technology Center. Lucie continued her education through the Baking and Pastry Program at Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina. She returned to Frederick in 2012 to start her search for the perfect storefront in her hometown. Cakes To Die For had its grand opening at 154 North Market Street in downtown Frederick on March 30, 2014. Stop by and visit us!
