Marybeth’s intention is for you to feel connected, understood, and at ease. As humans, we tend to ruminate in negative self-talk that inhibits our natural rhythms, causing doubt, fear, and a sense of dis-ease. Our energy channels get out of balance. Allow Marybeth the privilege to practice Reiki along with the option of gentle stretches and balance poses to help initiate equanimity in the physical body, emotional body and energetic body.
The hand placements of Reiki, along with movements of the body are the instruments. The intention also involves Tonglen, a Tibetan meditation, known as “sending and receiving.” Tong means letting go, and len means receiving. On the inhale Marybeth’s aim is to take in the pain and suffering you may be experiencing and on the exhale, offer compassion and space for your own self healing. If negative thoughts can make us sick, then positive thoughts can help us heal. Let us work together to counteract the constant chatter of the mind and cultivate self-healing. The tool to accomplish this is conscious, deliberate, and fullness of breath that only you can control.
Calming the mind can be made more accessible through movement of the body. Moving the body can help us shed unhealthy thoughts that do not serve our higher Self. As humans trying to survive, we tend to get stuck in situations that are out of our control, causing muscular tension and emotional stress. Can you allow your Self the opportunity to experience both movement of the body and breath as we channel your energies to help loosen built up tension, stress and anxieties? We offer strategies you can utilize in your busy lives to help you slow down & notice to develop body/self-awareness on a somatic level. Gently allow us to help you nurture & nourish to strive toward making modest moves toward new habits. You will be heard. You will feel understood. You will feel safe. If not now, when?
Lily’s Loft creates a relaxed and safe space to be yourself. Each session begins with a complimentary and optional foot bath with personal choice of essential oils. Enjoy a cup of tea as we sit and talk about you and your individual needs. Each session will vary depending on where you are in your journey, emotionally and physically. The choice belongs to you. Release muscular tension through targeted stretches, strive toward balance, find stillness in meditation, or head straight to the reiki.
The aim is for you to experience a sense of calm to invite a deeper relaxation during reiki. Or just move with me…No Reiki Please is also a choice of session. It’s your time, your safe space. Our goal is to help clients feel heard and understood and to cultivate deeper physical and emotional awareness resulting in a sense of calm, stillness and acceptance.
Lily’s Loft is dedicated to Marybeth’s mom. Lillian always made everyone she met feel important and noticed whether they were a professor at the college she taught or the grounds keeper. A story Marybeth loves sharing is when her mom was walking to her office when she stopped to talk with a gentleman in charge of planting flowers. She said to him, “Oh, so YOU are the person who makes this campus look so beautiful!” Undoubtedly, she helped him feel a part of something bigger, a necessary component of the whole. Whether it’s a glance with a smile, or sharing curiosities to draw our diversities closer, Marybeth wants to continue one of her mother’s legacy’s as she strives to have each of you to feel noticed, heard, and understood… as we are all a part of the whole.
