Curious Iguana is seeking a Marketing and Events Assistant to join their team. This is a part-time (approximately 15 hours a week) position that will report to the Marketing and Events Manager. Requirements: Experience in marketing or currently working on Marketing/Communications degree. Availability on weekends and evenings for events. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Outgoing, people-oriented; self motivated; detail oriented; able to multitask. Familiar with WordPress, Google Docs, Google Analytics, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and WooCommerce with eye for design. Able to lift up to 30 pounds. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist in development of marketing strategies; assist in creation of content for social media (Instagram stories, Reels, TikTok, Facebook); create email marketing campaigns (MailChimp); assist with writing and submitting event pitches to publishers; update and maintain email lists; write copy for event listings, newsletters, social media, and fliers; design and distribute fliers and other promotional materials; update website with event listings; set up, attend, and take down events at Curious Iguana and off-site venues. Communicate and coordinate with other staff, vendors, community partners; conduct market research, track social media and digital marketing analytics.
