We’re especially interested in those kindred spirits who embrace an organic and sustainable lifestyle and those who love organic and fair trade artisan handcrafted goods! An exceptional candidate would be a user of our Terressentials locally-crafted certified organic handcrafted personal care products. Hello! Are you out there?

A prime candidate would be an individual with professional high-end retail or wholesale experience, and/or handcrafting manufacturing experience and who is: respectful, articulate, extroverted, reliable, positive, flexible, creative, cooperative…enthusiastic! Bonus points: one who loves doing a variety of different things in a work day, enjoys working within a small team and a small business, and who is comfortable with computers, business software and web site management. Whew! Fashion, art and design awareness is a plus. Knowledge of certified organic production and/or products, and an awareness of and active concern for current environmental and sustainability issues is of particular interest.

An ideal team member is also organized and detail-focused, can calmly and gracefully move from one project to another over the course of a day without constant supervision, is eager to learn new things and who can successfully complete a project from start to finish.

 

Examples of Typical Duties:

Organic products production work—printing and preparing product labels, labeling handcrafted products, assembling samplers and marketing materials; order fulfillment—pulling, packing products and processing retail and wholesale orders for shipping via UPS or USPS; assisting with management of our product inventory and of product packaging materials and production supplies. Retail and wholesale customer education and service—providing retail customer service and education via face-to-face communication at our retail store or community events, or customer service via telephone or via responding to email inquiries.  Retail store assistance (some weekend hours, and holiday or special event evening hours): educating customers; ordering, pricing, stocking, maintaining inventory of merchandise and supplies; creating and maintaining artful product displays and signage for organic and fair trade goods. Technology and promotion—some assistance with web site and company newsletter maintenance and management.

 

Examples of Desirable Background Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of: QuickBooks Point of Sale and/or QB bookkeeping software; knowledge of other business software—word processing, spreadsheets, photoshop, desktop publishing including composing newsletters, i.e. Icontact, ConstantContact; UPS WorldShip, USPS Stamps.com, FedEx, etc.; photography, video or graphic design skills; knowledge of herbal medicine, aromatherapy and holistic health; knowledge of organic agriculture and the USDA National Organic Program, environmental and sustainability issues; team leadership; self-motivation; familiarity with search engines and research; familiarity with common social media venues, blogging/vlogging.
