Terressentials seeks organic-minded people to join our team!

Who are we looking for? The ideal candidates would be regular users of our Terressentials locally-crafted certified organic handcrafted personal care products, and those who embrace an organic lifestyle and who love organic and fair trade artisan handcrafted goods!

A prime candidate would be an individual with professional high-end retail (and/or wholesale) or manufacturing experience and who is: respectful, articulate, extroverted, reliable, positive, flexible, a creative thinker, cooperative, loves doing a variety of different things in a work day, enjoys working with a small team and a small business, and who is comfortable with computers and business software and who is eager to learn new things. Fashion and design awareness is a plus.

An ideal team member is organized and detail-focused, can calmly and gracefully move from one project to another over the course of a day without constant supervision, and one who can successfully complete a project from start to finish.

 

Examples of Typical Duties:

Organic products production work — printing and preparing labels, labeling products, assembling samplers and marketing materials; pulling and packing products and processing retail and wholesale orders for shipping via UPS or USPS; assisting with: management of inventory and production supplies, purchasing, organizing and planning; providing retail customer service and education via face-to-face communication at our retail store or community events, or retail and wholesale customer service via telephone or via responding to email inquiries; assisting with retail store management tasks: including product purchasing, pricing, stocking, maintaining inventory of merchandise and supplies; creating and maintaining artful product displays and signage for organic and fair trade goods; assisting with web site and company newsletter maintenance and management; contributing to newsletter and social media content and marketing plans.

 

Examples of Desirable Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of QuickBooks Point of Sale and/or QB bookkeeping software; knowledge of other business software — word processing, spreadsheets, photoshop, desktop publishing, composing newsletters, i.e., Icontact, UPS WorldShip, USPS Stamps.com, etc. — and familiarity with common social media venues and/or blogging/vlogging; photography, video or graphic design skills;  knowledge of herbal medicine, aromatherapy and holistic health; knowledge of organic agriculture and the USDA National Organic Program, environmental and sustainability issues; team leadership; self-motivation; familiarity with search engines and research.
