Flesh and spirit, within and without, the concealed and the revealed— DUALITY is a part of nearly every aspect of our lives, and part of many an artist’s work.

DUALITY can be straightforward, representing two opposing extremes— or it can convey the idea that apparent opposites are complimentary parts of a wholly new entity.

For DUALITY, two become one— Frederick Book Arts Center and NOMA Gallery combine their visions and the work of their artists, resulting in a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

In June, NOMA joins FBAC in its Carroll St studio gallery— and in July, FBAC will join NOMA Gallery on Market St.

Each show will feature new work in all media from local artists and a fresh take on what it means to be a part of a thriving arts community here in Frederick.

FBAC and NOMA invite you to join us for this exploration of collaborative effort— of DUALITY.

Join us for the “Duality” artist talk at 1pm on Saturday. We will be open to the public for tours, and have a keepsake activity running in the front room.

Our open house is happening in conjunction with Frederick Festival of the Arts taking place on Carroll Creek. Both events will be open 10am – 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
