Downtown Frederick Ambassador Program
The Downtown Frederick Ambassador Program employs 4-6 full-time workers (depending upon the season) to monitor and clean the downtown area. Ambassadors work from 7AM-10PM five days a week (Wednesday through Sunday). The ambassador program covers more than 17 blocks of the downtown area – including Market Street, Patrick Street, Carroll Creek Linear Park and Everedy Square & Shab Row.
Ambassadors help keep Downtown Frederick a safe and beautiful destination by providing essential functions, such as actively engaging pedestrians with friendly greetings and assistance, providing directions and information to visitors, picking up trash and power washing sidewalks, removing graffiti and stickers from light poles and other public infrastructure, collecting leaves and debris from sidewalks and gutters, pulling weeds in public spaces, and so much more! Downtown Frederick Partnership contracts with Block by Block to provide this service.
Contact an Ambassador on duty
Need assistance from a Downtown Ambassador? Look for a bright green shirt on the street, or call the Downtown Frederick Ambassador line, available 7AM-10PM Wednesday through Sunday. If you would like an escort within Downtown Frederick to your car, contact the ambassador on duty to request this service.

The National String Symphonia (NSS) is celebrating 10 years of making beautiful string music and is excited to present some of the most popular selections from their first 10 seasons. This concert is definitely one that you don’t want to miss so plan to attend and celebrate with the NSS! Founded in 2013, the National String Symphonia is a fully professional symphonic string orchestra. Their mission is to preserve, promote, and present string orchestra music. Many ensembles do not program this repertoire for a variety of reasons, including its relative obscurity and its musical complexity, as well as basic challenges in obtaining performance materials. Their goal is to reach beyond the archetypical orchestra audience and become an integral part of the musical life of listeners at all ages and stages. They seek to innovate the concert experience, and are exploring new and different ways of presenting the music – including the use of video elements and educational presentations. They strive to increase accessibility to and relevance of the music while ensuring high-caliber performances.

The Tivoli Discovery Series is our pay-what-you-want series featuring emerging artists. This month’s artist is Austin, TX-based Zach Person, who plays loud, raw, and connects with his music fans on a primal sonic level. Person has a swagger, talent and grit beyond his years. With the poise of a seasoned veteran on stage and the stylings of a mega star, he commands an audience in seconds. “Reminiscent of everyone from Elmore James and Duane Allman to The Black Keys and Jack White, Person channels a raw, pure-bred American swagger,” said American Songwriter. “Between the driving beat, Person’s fuzzed-out vocals and the layers of bombastic guitar parts, the tune shows off all the reasons that Buddy Guy once said of Person ‘What else can I say? The young man is hot!’” His inspirations are varied, and include prolific artists like The Black Keys, Jack White, Chris Stapleton, Jonny Lang, Funkadelic, and Led Zeppelin. With his new project, Zach has created his own take on a contemporary hybrid of blues and rock music, arranged in a pop format. Person’s self-titled, debut LP dropped on April 2, 2021 and garnered the attention of notable press including American Songwriter, Classic Rock Magazine, American Blues Scene, […]
