It’s a big weekend in Downtown Frederick…you could even say it’s HUGE! That’s right–we’re talking FROSTY FRIDAY!! Where you spend your money matters, and shopping small is the perfect way to celebrate the season, have loads of fun, and support small business.

Join us throughout downtown this Friday for a visit to our Snowflake tree (starting at 11am with a $100 combined purchase at at least two of our retailers), catch early bird gift bags at 9am, visit with Santa from 12pm-3pm, both at 30 N Market St, and roast marshmallows to a perfect golden brown at our fire pits.

And while you’ve got the family in town this weekend, be sure to check out holiday games for the whole family at Heritage Frederick, or take in a fun show at The Weinberg Center for the Arts. We’re feeling the holiday vibe and can’t wait to share good cheer. We’ll see you downtown!

Kick off your holiday season with all day shopping in Downtown Frederick!

Parking is FREE, shops open early and stay open late, and Downtown Frederick is filled with holiday cheer and decoration.

8am – Frosty Friday Breakfast at participating restaurants. Fuel up for a busy day of shopping and festivities. (locations listed below)

9am – Early Bird Bag Giveaway for the first 100 shoppers who line up at 30 N Market St Bags feature a mix of unique goodies from downtown businesses!

9am-9pm – All Day enjoy extended shopping hours at 45+ downtown stores and restaurants, sing along to familiar holiday music in the streets, and experience the wonder of Downtown Frederick with thousands of twinkling lights & charming storefront decorations.

11am – Snowflake Tree opens at 30 N Market St Earn a free gift from under the tree by shopping with two or more downtown businesses during Frosty Friday. Show receipts totaling at least $100 and pick your present from under the tree! (while supplies last)

12-3pm – Photos with Santa at 30 N Market St Snap a few photos with our jolly Santa in your new matching hat provided by Woodsboro Bank!

4-9pm – Marshmallow Roasting Fire Pits are open all throughout downtown to warm you up and give you a quick sugar rush. ‘Tis the season! (while supplies last)

Good Old Fashioned Holiday Fun for Kids! @ Heritage Frederick

Stop by The Museum of Frederick County History for some good old fashioned fun! FROSTY FRIDAY CHILDREN ACTIVITIES with COOKIES and COCOA (first come, first served). Activities include:

1. Feed the Snowman – Corn hole, snowman style! See how many bean bags he can eat!
2. Magnet ice skating. Use a magnet wand to make the ice skaters glide.
3. Ice fishing. Try you hand at catching fish out of the cold water sensory table.
4. Have fun with the old ball and cup toy.
5. Frosty the Snowman hunt.
6. Make ornaments to take home and one to hang on out garden Christmas tree.

We may have a special guest make an appearance!!

Lightwire Theater – A Very Electric Christmas @ The Weinberg Center for the Arts

Follow the story of a young bird named Max, and his family, as they begin their journey south for the winter. When Max gets blown off course and ends up at the North Pole, his adventure begins! Dancing toy soldiers, caroling worms and performing poinsettias light up the stage. Audiences of all ages will treasure this magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope, set to timeless holiday hits including Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey and Tchaikovsky. Lightwire Theater has been internationally recognized for their electroluminescent artistry and poignant storytelling, done in complete darkness.

Tuba Christmas @ The Weinberg Center for the Arts

Saturday, November 26, 12pm-2pm, FREE with any canned food or Cash Donation

The popular tuba comrades of Frederick return with a variety of brassy Christmas hits, delighting audiences of all ages in an annual Weinberg Center tradition. In lieu of admission, a canned food drive will be held to benefit the Community Action Agency of Frederick City.
