There are a lot of opportunities to do good downtown this weekend, and have a bunch of fun while you’re doing it. There’s live music, art and cocktails, more used books than you could ever read, and a terrific fall liqueur release. This weekend, you can stroll our picturesque streets, taste our divine eats, pop into our awesome shops, and enjoy the music throughout downtown!

Gaslight Gallery Sculpture in the Courtyard @ Thacher & Rye

Thacher & Rye and Gaslight Gallery are excited to present an outdoor art exhibition that will showcase the work of regional artists. This unique event will take place in Thacher & Rye’s courtyard, which provides the perfect setting for these inspiring sculptures. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the artists and enjoy fantastic food and drink from the restaurant while admiring the artwork and supporting a good cause.

Proceeds benefit The Frederick Art Club Scholarship Fund.

Our Yearly Used Book Sale is BACK this weekend!

We’ll be open in Trunk Hall (just behind our Sanctuary) from 9am-7pm on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th, plus 9am-1pm on Sunday the 25th (which includes a $5 bag sale)! The proceeds from this weekend’s sale will benefit @operation_second_chance.

Autumn Liqueur Description: Tenth Ward’s original apple brandy made from McCutcheon’s apple cider, melded with ginger, plum, black tea, turmeric, allspice, cinchona bark, sage, fennel, saffron, and slightly sweetened with local honey. Tasting Notes: A smack of dry champagne, bourbon-like innuendos and whispers of tart apple.

This Fall, Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar and Truist are cutting the trip to Nashville and bringing the party to your neighborhood Shack. We are proud to announce the Fresh & Raw Tour Together with Truist featuring Nashville singer/songwriter CJ Solar with opener Warren Garrett and one local musician from your town. CJ Solar’s writing credentials include 2 #1 hits including “Up Down” by Morgan Wallen ft. Florida Georgia Line and “Some Girls Do” by Jameson Rogers. He has also written songs for Jason Aldean, Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann and more.

We are excited to bring this show to your town with absolutely no admission fees. Yeah, you heard us right! No tickets necessary and no ridiculous “use our bathroom” fees. Come to Shuckin’ Shack, eat fresh seafood, drink, have fun, and enjoy the show with Nashville singer/songwriters.

We are proud to partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during this Fresh & Raw Tour Together with Truist, as well. Though each show is free to attend, we ask that you “pay what you can” during your local performance. All donations will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. LLS volunteers will be taking cash donations during your local show to “Fill the Bucket.”

Ukrainian Melody: Benefit Concert for Humanitarian Aid @ Frederick Presbyterian Church

American Soprano, Ashlyn Mazone joins Ukrainian Mezzo Soprano, Margaret Yefimenko for an evening of Ukrainian Arias, Art and Folk Traditional Songs by Ukrainian Composers, accompanied by Merzana Kostreci.

This is a non-ticketed concert, with donations encouraged. 100% of the proceeds will be split between Global Giving Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund and the Voices of Children Foundation. Following the performance, there will be a fundraising reception, featuring art and crafts by local Frederick artists. 100% of proceeds will directly support humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
