Federated Chartities provides strategic and “bricks and mortar” support to non-profit organizations in Frederick, Maryland.
The Federated Charities Corporation of Frederick was established in 1911 to help support a growing number of charitable organizations being established in Frederick County. More than 100 years later, we continue to do so by offering affordable operational space to emerging and established non-profit organizations.
Our fully renovated building consists of two connected 19th century structures and houses 7-10 charitable organizations at any given time. Our tenant-partners provide a diversity of support to our community in the fields of mental health care, legal assistance, and workforce development services in addition to sharing a love of Frederick’s historic downtown. By offering below-market rents, our non-profit tenants are able to better leverage their own financial resources, grow, and frequently move on to a larger, dedicated location of their own.
Federated Charities also operates the Beverly A. Sharrer Medical Equipment Loan Closet, which loans home health care medical equipment to Frederick County residents on a temporary basis – thereby eliminating the additional costs associated with an injury or illness. Walkers, canes, crutches and other equipment can be borrowed by any Frederick County resident, regardless of their financial circumstances.
