The American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) is the select national association of preeminent real estate lawyers. The ACREL office is located in downtown Frederick, Maryland and is currently seeking a full-time Membership & Communications Manager. This role is a 40-hour per week position, with the opportunity for future growth. A hybrid work option is available upon successful completion of a probationary period. The position does require travel for on-site meeting administration about three times a year.

The Membership & Communications Manager is a key member of the association’s team, responsible for managing membership operations, overseeing communication and marketing strategies, supporting office administration, and assisting with conference planning. This dynamic role requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and communicative professional who can manage multiple priorities and contribute to the overall success of the association’s programs and services. This position reports to the Co-Executive Directors.

Responsibilities:

Membership:

o   Implement membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies

o   Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, onboarding, and renewals

o   Maintain accurate member records in the association’s database and directory

o   Analyze membership data and provide regular reports on trends and opportunities

o   Support the needs of administrative and substantive committees

Communications & Marketing:

o   Execute communication plans and distribute marketing materials to promote membership, programs, and events

o   Design and distribute branded communications and marketing materials for members and stakeholders

o   Manage content across the association’s website and social media platforms

o   Ensure meeting-related updates are posted to the website and app in a timely manner

o   Track engagement metrics and adjust strategies to optimize reach and effectiveness

o   Support public relations and media outreach efforts as needed

Conference Assistance

o   Process meeting and event registrations

o   Oversee Continuing Legal Education (CLE) accreditation and reporting for meetings

o   Assist with purchasing, preparation, and shipping of meeting materials

o   Manage on-site registration and event logistics

o   Communicate with the Programs Committee and assist in executing the educational program

Office Administration

o   Support senior staff with accounts reconciliation and administrative needs

o   Manage incoming and outgoing mail and shipments

o   Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, non-profit management, or a related field

·       3+ years of experience in membership management, communications, or association operations

·       Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms, specifically LinkedIn

·       Experience with database and website management

·       Strong project management and organizational abilities

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

·       High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience in an association, nonprofit, or membership-based organization

·       Familiarity with tools such as Constant Contact, Canva, and Adobe Suite

·       Knowledge of CLE requirements and processes

Compensation and benefits:

·       Salary of $60,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience
