Game Host

We’re looking for a Game Host to help us deliver unforgettable experiences to our guests in Downtown Frederick! Clue IQ is Maryland’s premiere escape room facility, locally owned and operated by a team of escape room enthusiasts. We create custom-built, award-winning games dedicated to providing fun and engaging experiences for all our guests.

Job Description:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Game Host. In this role, you’ll greet guests, guide them through their game, and make sure their visit is a great one. This is a part-time position, with most hosts working 1–2 shifts per week., weekend availability is required. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and customer service skills and is passionate about ensuring every guest has a fun and memorable time.

Key responsibilities include:
– Greeting guests, checking them in, and providing a brief overview of their game.
– Monitoring games to ensure a smooth and fun experience for all players.
– Assisting guests as needed by providing hints and answering questions.
– Resetting games precisely and efficiently after each group finishes.
– Managing front desk operations, including taking payments, answering phones, and handling bookings.
– Maintaining a clean and safe environment, which includes cleaning games, common areas, and restrooms.

Salary and Compensation:
–  $15/hour to start.
– Raises available as additional responsibilities are learned.
– Tip pool: While tips are never guaranteed our team has averaged an additional $3.42/hour in tips this year.

Qualifications & Requirements:
– Mandatory weekend and some holiday availability.
– Exceptional customer service skills and an outgoing, friendly personality.
– Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on a detailed task for up to 90 minutes.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to moving quickly and frequently, bending, and occasionally lifting and carrying objects up to 30 pounds.
– You must be comfortable using basic technology, including desktop PCs, tablets, touchscreens, and audio/video equipment.
