The Banyan is assembling the opening kitchen team for a new high-end restaurant and rooftop bar in Downtown Frederick. We are seeking professional cooks who take pride in their craft and want to work in a kitchen where standards matter.
This is a serious chef-driven kitchen focused on technique, organization, and execution. We are building a team of cooks who care about the details — from knife work and prep discipline to clean stations, equipment, and consistent plating.

What You’ll Do
- Execute menu items with consistency, precision, and attention to detail
- Maintain a clean, organized, and disciplined workstation throughout service
- Work as part of a tight, professional kitchen team during high-volume service
- Follow all prep, sanitation, labeling, and food safety standards
- Support daily prep production and station setup
- Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow cooks during service
- Take ownership of your station and contribute to overall kitchen success
What We’re Looking For
- Previous line cook or prep cook experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and ability to move with urgency
- Pride in cleanliness, organization, and proper technique
- Ability to stay composed during busy service
- Willingness to accept feedback and improve
- Team-first mentality
You don’t need a Michelin-star resume, but you must bring discipline, reliability, and a genuine interest in cooking well.

Location: Downtown Frederick, Maryland
Schedule: Nights, weekends, and some holidays required
