JOB SUMMARY:
The Energy Auditor conducts energy audits of residential buildings. S/he conducts comprehensive energy audits in accordance with industry best practices and Company specifications. The successful candidate will conduct field data collection, carry out energy usage analysis and energy modeling, and prepare audit reports containing recommended scope of work for energy efficiency improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts energy audits and in-field energy assessments.
- Schedules site visits to engage in data collection and analysis.
- Conducts energy analyses using software modeling tools, such as HEAT, BEACON and SnuggPro.
- Prepares energy assessment reports based on analytic findings, including detailed specifications and cost savings analyses.
- Develops and carries out project plans relevant to energy audit business model.
- Researches and secures audit projects for new customers.
- Scopes and plans energy efficiency projects with customers and liaisons with construction personnel to ensure work is performed in accordance with plans.
- Assists in developing the energy audit business, including, but not limited to, marketing, process/procedures, and securing and managing contractor relationships.
- Meets and/or exceeds established performance objectives as defined and communicated by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Energy Auditor may indirectly supervise the work of contractors conducting customer improvements according to energy audit analyses.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. College degree (B.A. or B.S. in Engineering preferred) with a demonstrated interest in energy efficiency/conservation or equivalent combination of education and experience. BPI Building Analyst/Building Envelope/QCI, DOE Weatherization Tactics, OSHA 30 and EPA certifications required for sign-on bonus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel. Good organizational skills with the ability to manage projects from initiation to conclusion while maintaining focus and attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to interact well with others in the field and in an office environment. Research skills and experience. Ability to perform cost savings analyses and produce technical reports. Familiarity with energy efficiency/conservation principles and techniques required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Conducts work in both a field-type environment or in a professional office setting with travel to jobsites to conduct inspections.
Physical working conditions may involve the following:
- Lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Lifting and carrying ladders.
- Working in confined spaces for short durations.
- Extended periods of sitting, walking, standing, reaching, and/or bending.
- Extended periods of reading fine print on a computer or in paper-based format.

- Trips, slips and/or falls while on customer property.

- Lifting items up to 75 pounds in weight.
- Other hazardous conditions on customer premises, not otherwise defined here.
