Light Walk

The Downtown Frederick Light Walk brings creative light installations downtown each winter. Wander past mirror-ball stairwells, color changing tunnels and glowing displays around Carroll Creek and Everedy Square & Shab Row, every day.

Sailing Through the Winter Solstice

Sailing Through the Winter Solstice is a free outdoor light display of individually designed, glowing sailboats floating in Carroll Creek Park through March. Stroll the creek and enjoy the glow while supporting Frederick County nonprofit organizations.
Kris Kringle Procession

Holiday cheer fills the streets of Downtown Frederick, MD during the annual Kris Kringle Procession, a Frederick tradition for the whole family. Local organizations, youth clubs, and musical groups join costumed characters for a parade full of small-town holiday charm.
The Procession begins at the corner of South Carroll and East Patrick streets and ends in Baker Park with a closing ceremony featuring carols and the lighting of the City Tree. Presented by Celebrate Frederick, sponsored by Wawa, in partnership with Key 103.
Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship

Step inside history during Frederick’s most popular Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship. This special holiday open house invites you to explore Downtown Frederick’s stunning architecture and local history by candlelight, with historic sanctuaries decorated for the season.
