WHAT: Attaboy will be hosting us along with our local celebrity, beer-lebrity and community stars who will be behind the bar pouring drinks and collecting tips for charity. Each beer will be $1 more and Attaboy will be matching that $1 for a total of $2 donated for each beer purchase and all tips for the evening will go to the cause. Additionally, don’t miss our raffle worth over $500 in gift bags and gift cards from local businesses!

WHAT IS SPLASH POINT? The Splash PoinT at Baker Park is dedicated to constructing Frederick County’s first community splash pad as a tribute to Simon Turner, a place for people in our community to build connections and memories together, while also offering a free cooling amenity to all in the summer months. Situated next to the William R. Talley Recreation Center, this project is designed to ensure ADA accessibility.

This project pays tribute to Simon, a special little boy who was captivated by water play. Before his untimely passing in March 2019, Simon loved to splash around in the fountain on Carroll Creek and the 7th Street Fountain, but these spots weren’t designed for children to safely enjoy the water.

His parents, Brent and Talia Turner, wanted to honor Simon by adding a meaningful feature to Baker Park- one that would allow families to interact with water, laugh, connect, and create lasting memories. The name ‘The Splash PoinT’ serves as a tribute, with the capital ‘S’ representing Simon and the capital ‘T’ standing for his last name, forever celebrating his joyous spirit and love for playful water experiences in this community space.
