December Saturdays

Each weekend you’ll find something special happening! Streets are filled with musicians and carolers performing your favorite holiday classics, fire pits are set up all around town so you can warm up and roast a marshmallow as you stroll between shops and your eyes will be dazzled by a spectacular display of holiday lights and decorations.
Love Local Tour

This can’t-miss night of holiday fun is designed with locals in mind. Come out to enjoy local shopping and holiday cheer that Downtown Frederick puts on each winter, without worrying about weekend crowds.
Kris Kringle Procession
Dec 12 | 6:30 – 8PM
Holiday cheer fills the streets during this annual parade in Downtown Frederick. Begins at the corner of South Carroll and East Patrick streets and ends in Baker Park with the lighting of the City Tree.
Candlelight Tour
Dec 26 | 4 – 9PM
Step inside history during Frederick’s most popular Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship. This special open house celebrates Frederick’s stunning architecture, local history, and the holiday season.
Sailing Through the Winter Solstice

Sailing Through The Winter Solstice begins in November, when a number of boats, transformed through the creative minds of many Frederick friends, set sail on the Creek. Our fleet has grown to 28 sailing boats and 2 land-locked boats and are anchored in Carroll Creek.
Downtown Frederick Light Walk
Nov 7, 2025 – March 9, 2026
The highly anticipated return of the Downtown Frederick Light Walk brings creative lighting installations to seven downtown locations, including two new installations this winter season. Visitors can experience the Light Walk everyday through March 2026.
