Christine Hahn will be the featured artist at NOMA Gallery in Frederick MD in May. Her new series of abstract paintings is titled “Deer Spring Road: Paintings.”
Christine Hahn has been affiliated with NOMA for two years and this marks her first solo show at the gallery. Regarding the work in this exhibition, Hahn stated “I am very excited to be embarking on a new direction in my paintings focused less on geometric abstraction and more on gesture, which is something of an about-face for me artistically. My surrounding environment has led me to shift toward a more immediate and organic artistic response.”

Christine Hahn was formerly a new media specialist at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC, and has a varied body of work which includes painting, video installation art, music performance, photography, and graphic design. She participated in Artomatic events here and in Washington DC has exhibited locally at NOMA, TAG, and the Delaplaine. In addition, her collaborative work during residence in New York City and Berlin Germany has been included in major museum retrospectives and collections in the US and Europe.
