In September TAG/The Artists Gallery will feature two solo exhibitions of paintings and photographs: Joanna Morrison’s “Flowers and Figures” and Patricia Stockman’s “Departure.” Stockman’s photo-based art has been featured in many area shows and venues, but this new show is precisely what its title claims. “Departure,” an ethereal study of time and space, reveals a sense of freedom and anonymity through transparent child-like figures as they meld with their surroundings. “This series began as a need to step outside of myself, to depart, photographically from my comfort zone,” Stockman says.  “I’ve ‘abandoned’ Photoshop.  These pieces contain no digital collaging— just […]

South African Wine Tasting

Livalit Travel is bringing a piece of their South Africa tour to Frederick. Join them, Crisafulli’s Cheese Shop, and a local sommelier for a night of South African wine tasting. Livalit Travel will give a presentation on their Highlights of South Africa tour which includes a day trip to the wine country that produces the wines we are sampling. Five beloved children’s stories come to life in an exciting musical revue!
