This weekend downtown, you’ll be able to participate in a true outdoor summer bash with beer, music, and food trucks, as well as find ice cream, both in a dish and on the walls! We’re focused on self-care with both yoga and art therapy, ready to play beer bingo, and even enjoy music from a chamber orchestra totally devoted to playing only, wait for it…video game music!

Rockwell Brewery is hosting its first annual Rockwell Summer Brew Bash at Carroll Creek Linear Park Amphitheater on July 30th from 12-7 PM! It’ll be slam packed with fun summer vibes from the brews to the music to the food!
Wear your favorite summer outfit or flashiest Hawaiian shirt with pride! Bring your lawn chairs, get a cold beer, and enjoy the music all day long! Rockwell will be pouring ice cold beers on tap to keep you cool, refreshed, and movin’ and groovin’ to the music! Stroker’s BBQ, Jerk N Jive Caribbean Kitchen, and Mayta’s Peruvian Kitchen will be serving up the best food and keepin’ your bellies happy!
Featured music acts are the East 3rd Band, DJ Genius, and Mark and Da Shark (a Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band!). You can expect fun, summery hits that’ll get your toes tappin’ and your hips shakin’! Plus, there will be a selection of local vendors for you to get your shop on! It’s gonna be a ROCKin’ good time!

The soundtracks of popular and indie video games arrive on the Weinberg Center stage this July with “Chambers & Consoles,” Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra’s chamber music series. This annual summer favorite showcases WMGSO’s small ensembles performing original arrangements of video game music that give the audience a taste of everything from classical wind quintets to big band jazz and swing.
WMGSO is a 120-musician strong community orchestra and choir whose mission is to share and celebrate video game music with a wide audience, primarily by putting on affordable, accessible concerts in the D.C. area.
